It was talking about Donald trump and the Access Hollywood Tape and the shift in the last 5 years among evangelicals. In 2011, 30 percent of white evangelicals said that “an elected official who commits an immoral act in their personal life can still behave ethically and fulfill their duties.”
Now, considering the polls saying that while his numbers are slipping, many Alabama Republicans plan to still vote for Roy Moore, its important to see again.
Evangelism can have a cult-like quality, where anyone that’s a part of the club will be forgiven of almost anything, and anyone outside of it will be immediately attacked. Almost all Americans have seen an increased positive response to that question, but no one has seen the same shift that white Evangelicals have.
Gee I wonder who was Pres in 2011?
Funny thing is, our Pres in 2011 was one of most squeaky clean and moral we’ve ever had.
And was hated more for it.
